UMW – Who We Are
Methodists
define the United Methodist Women (UMW) organization as follows: the organized
unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to
know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to
develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission
through participation in the global ministries of the church.
The West Park UMW, like the international
organization, has evolved out of a history of more than a century of women whose
primary concern has been mission.
The total program encompasses mission
education, spiritual growth, and social action, with a continuing focus of the
needs of women and the needs of children and youth.
At West Park
United Methodist Church, the UMW meets the second Monday of each month in
the church Fellowship Hall (unless stated otherwise).
There are no meetings in January, June, July and August.
Babysitting is offered during programs.
