Each year in December, the West Park United Methodist Church presents a live nativity scene at the
"Walk of Lights Festival" held at the Dutch Neck Village. The
festival is always held the first Friday and Saturday evenings in December from 5 p.m. to
9 p.m. The nativity scene will run from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
The New
Horizons Sunday School class creates the scenery for the presentation. Once
the nativity scene is set up, complete with farm animals in a manger
setting, the class then schedules church members to staff the
presentation in half-hour segments for both nights. Each half-hour
shift contains seven people, three shepherds, two angels and Mary and
Joseph. |
