And Projects

Woodruff Class Offers College Book Fund

Any college-bound student who is attending and participating in the activities of the West Park United Methodist Church is eligible to receive money to help with the purchase of textbooks.

The student bound for a college or university can obtain as much as a $75 grant per semester,  or $150 for a school year, if he or she is taking a full course load.  Part-time students will get less money, but they are still eligible for the grant.

All the student has to do is obtain an application form, fill it out, and return it to the Harold E. Woodruff class just prior to the start of a new semester.

Class Coordinates Strawberry Shortcake Sale

In order to fund the College Book Fund, the Woodruff class coordinates the sale of homemade strawberry shortcakes at the annual Strawberry Festival located at the Dutch Neck Village on Trench Road, in Hopewell Township just outside of Bridgeton, on the first Saturday in June.

The entire church is active in making and selling the shortcakes.  The profit from the Strawberry Shortcake project is the only support the College Book Fund gets.
