The pictures
on the left show some scenes during the HolyWord Studios filming on Friday,
August 11. The morning started off with singing, fellowship, and
prayer at the Sing and Play Soundtrack.
Day
5's Bible Point was "God is always with us." Our Bible Story
was "The Holy Spirit comes at Pentecost" (Acts
2:1-27). The Bible verse for the day was "Therefore go
and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the
Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit . . . And surely I am with
you always, to the very end of the age." -- From Matthew 28:19-20.
At Chadder's Adventure Theater,
Chadder the Chipmunk and his friends jumped into the time machine to
escape a Roman guard. When the machine stopped, they met up with
Mary who told them about Jesus' resurrection and about the Holy Spirit
coming upon Jesus' followers at Pentecost. Then everyone
discovered that all of Chadder's time travel had been a dream. But
he told all his friends at the movie studio about all his
adventures. He came away having learned that God is always with
us. "Freeze
Frame Stomp" and "Outreach Tag" provided the fun at the "Now Playing Games"
venue. In the first game, a child carried a balloon with the
others following. When the leader yelled freeze, everyone had to
stop and the balloon carrier could stomp on someone's shadow. In
Outreach Tag, one child acted as Peter and tagged as many kids as
possible in a defined area. Once tagged, those kids would join
Peter in the "church." They would then help Peter tag
others and see how the church keeps growing.
In
Prop Shop Crafts, the kids made Kid-To-Kid Care Kits to send to children
in the orphanage at the New Fountain of Life Ministries in Acuna,
Mexico. They created a card for the child receiving the kit and
placed it in a half-gallon plastic bag containing a washcloth, a comb, a bar of soap, a toothbrush,
a tube of toothpaste, and some bandages.
Mini
birthday cakes were on the menu for the Movie Munchies snack area.
It consisted of a cupcake with some frosting and sprinkles on it.
A stick of licorice in the stuck in the middle of the cake represented a
candle. At
the Blockbuster Bible Adventure stage, our film crews gathered in a
party atmosphere to celebrate the Holy Spirit coming at Pentecost,
remembering that the party began at Pentecost and still continues
today. The party even included confetti, blown around the room by
some fans. That represented the Holy Spirit being poured out, over
the entire group. The question, "Have you heard the good news
about Jesus?" brought all the children together, crew by crew,
until they all linked arms and surrounded the room. They closed in
prayer. During
Show Time at the end of the morning, our crews were surprised as the
party atmosphere continued, celebrating Pentecost, the birthday of the
church, when God sent his Holy Spirit to be with us always. Some
400 balloons dropped from the ceiling and they were given small bottles
of bubbles to blow. Today's attendance:
