The pictures
on the left show some scenes during the HolyWord Studios filming on Thursday,
August 10. The morning started off with singing, fellowship, and
prayer at the Sing and Play Soundtrack.
Day
4's Bible Point was "God saves us." Our Bible Story
was "Jesus was crucified and rose from the dead" (Matthew 27:11 through
28:7).
The Bible verse for the day was "She will give birth to a son, and
you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from
their sins." -- From Matthew 1:21.
In
Prop Shop Crafts, the kids created Amazing Pictures that will change
from a dull black and white picture to a colorful one when pulled out of
its frame. It is just like how lives change when Jesus saves
us. On Friday,
they will be making
kits for the Kid-To-Kid program. The children should bring in one
of the following items: a washcloth, a comb, a bar of soap, a toothbrush
or a tube of toothpaste
to send to the children at the New Fountain of Life Mission in Acuna,
Mexico.
At Chadder's Adventure Theater,
Chadder the Chipmunk's time machine whisked the troublesome chipmunk
and his friends to Jerusalem, where Jesus has been
crucified. Chadder remembers that the Bible says that Jesus rose
from the dead. He explains that Jesus saves us through his death
and resurrection. Sweet
Butterflies were on the menu for the Movie Munchies snack area. It
consisted of two doughnut halves, some frosting, licorice and some
sprinkles in the shape of a butterfly. At left, a little one is
doing a real nice time cleaning his plate. At
the Blockbuster Bible Adventure stage, the film crew members turned
into sound effects people for the story of Jesus' being captured by
soldiers, his "trial," his death on the cross, and his
resurrection from the tomb. After the filming, crew members were
given the opportunity to commit themselves to Jesus. Many took the
opportunity. At the "Now Playing Games" venue,
it was the Goop Relay where film crew members used spoons to try to move
the goop from a cup at the starting line to a cup at the finish
line. The goop gave kids a little picture of Jesus' power.
But the change that happened with Jesus was a miracle. He was
dead, and now he's alive! Because Jesus was more powerful than
death, God saves us! During
Show Time at the end of the morning, our crew members thought of a sin,
represented by a piece of plastic, and turned it over to Jesus by
placing the sin into a bucket of water. Then they saw the plastic
disappear, just like Jesus makes our sin disappear!
