Moses Leads His People

The pictures on the left show some scenes during the HolyWord Studios filming on Wednesday, August 9.  The morning started off with singing, fellowship, and prayer at the Sing and Play Soundtrack.

Everyone at  the Sing and Play Soundtrack loved seeing Vacation Bible School director Kelly Holst getting made up by a rather strange looking Make Up Lady (Pastor Strope)!

Day 3's Bible Point was "God loves us."  Our Bible Story was "God spares the Israelites during Passover and allows them to cross the Red Sea" (Exodus 11:1 through 15:21).  The Bible verse for the day was "In the same way your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should be lost." -- From Matthew 18:14.

At Chadder's Adventure Theater, Chadder the Chipmunk and his friend Carmine the Camel, got into more trouble after talking with two Israelite children who were preparing to leave Egypt after the Passover.  They explained what happened and Chadder learns how God loved them and loves us.  When we left Chadder, though, he and Carmine were in their time machine in the middle of the Red Sea with the Israelites on the eastern shore and the Egyptians to the west in hot pursuit.  The water was ready to close in on them!

Red Sea Splits were on the menu for the Movie Munchies snack area and the little girl at left is all smiles as she delivers a tray full of those splits.

And all of the film crews looked like they appreciated the "splits" when they sat down at their tables.  This Movie Munchie was a huge hit!

In Prop Shop Crafts, the kids created Bouncy Incredi-balls by pouring powder into a mold then dipping the mold into a plastic cup filled with water.  Once the powder was thoroughly soaked, it expanded.  With the mold off, the powder was transformed into an incredible bouncy ball.  It must be kept in a plastic bag, though, if it is to retain its bounce.  They will be making kits for the Kid-To-Kid program.  The children should bring in one of the following items: a washcloth, a comb, a bar of soap, a toothbrush or a tube of toothpaste  to send to the children at the New Fountain of Life Mission in Acuna, Mexico.

At the "Now Playing Games" venue, you see some children acting like walls of water as someone walks between them, just like the Israelites once walked between the walls of water in the Red Sea.  In this game, however, when told to stop walking, the walls of water reached out and tickled the walker!  It demonstrated how God loved the Israelites back then and how He loves us now.

At the Blockbuster Bible Adventure stage, our film crews gathered in "houses" for the Passover after painting the door frames with blood (red paint).  They prayed for their individual families, just like the Israelites did in that first Passover.  After eating some matzah bread, they fled their "houses" and staged their own exodus through a Red Sea.  Some got a little wet when they stayed in the sea (sprinklers) too long!

During Show Time at the end of the morning, our crews became like waves in the sea, using blue balloons as special effects, as Moses led the Israelites through the parted waters.  After safely on the other side, our film crews batted the balloons to the front, symbolizing the parted waters covering up the Egyptian pursuers.
