The pictures
on the left show what the children saw when they arrived at West Park United
Methodist Church on the morning.
Day
1's Bible Point was "God cares for us." Our Bible Story
was "the baby Moses is saved from death" ( Exodus 1:1 through 2:10).
The Bible verse for the day was "For your Father knows what you
need before you ask him." -- From Matthew 6:8b.
The
day began with kids singing
catchy songs at the Sing and Play soundtrack.
At
the Blockbuster Bible Adventure stage, the kids managed to sneak by a
horrible looking and sounding soldier to put the baby Moses in a basket.
During
a break, they were able to nibble on some tasty treats at Movie
Munchies. They
also played teamwork-building games at the "Now Playing Games"
venue. Today they participated in "Bound To Get
Soaked." It involved playing catch with water filled balloons
until the balloons broke. We are happy to report that a lot of
kids got a little bit wet - a welcome relief during a very hot and
humid morning! They
dug into a Bible adventure at Chadder's Adventure Theater, watched
Chadder the Chipmunk get in trouble by accidentally activating a
"fake" time machine, winding up in Egypt, and seeing the
baby Moses in the reeds along the banks of the Nile River. They
learned how God cared for the baby and how he even cared for the
troublesome Chadder. VBS students highlighted the Bible verse of
the day in their books and tabbed the page containing the verse.
In
Prop Shop Crafts, the kids created TLSeed necklaces that consisted of a
small container carrying a seed that should start to grow. They
took those necklaces home with them.
