The
2nd day of our Polar Exploration started with the Sing and Play
blast. It was a joyous event with lots of kids joining in, as you
can see in the first picture on the left.
Day
2's Bible Point was "Jesus' love is refreshing (COOL!)." Our Bible Story
was "Jesus helps the Samaritan woman at the well (John 4:4-30).
The Bible verse for the day was: "Your faith has saved you; go in
peace." -- From Luke 7:50b.
At
the Bible Exploration Theater, the cool crews went on an outdoor
adventure in search of Samaria. When they became hot and thirsty,
they learned from the woman at the well how "Jesus' love is
refreshing."
Everyone enjoyed watching Chadder the Chipmunk in another segment of Chadder's
Snow Show. When Chadder arrived at the polar home of world famous
artic explorer Polar Pierre, he was freezing cold! He soon found
out, even though he didn't believe it, how warm he could get in a house
made of ice. After the show, the VBS students marked their student
book Bible at Luke 7:50b.
A
real cool crew stopped by the Igloo Eats venue to prepare the day's
snacks for the rest of the Vacation Bible School. They had a good
time creating "Polar Bear Ice Cream" from scratch. Maybe
the best time, however, was when the other Expedition crews stopped by
to eat it. It was really good!
It
was a lot of fun at Glacier Games where children lined up with plastic
spoons in their mouths (representing penguin beaks) to carry a chunk of
ice. They did a neat "penguin waddle" over to a bucket
to deposit the ice.
During
a break, they were able to nibble on some tasty mini-wedding cakes at
the Igloo Eats Center were a crew of kids prepared the tasty morsels for
the entire Bible School
In
Cool Crafts, Snow Globes were the cool thing for the day. The
children literally made globes, which, when they shook them up, they
could watch the snow fall inside the globe. It was a reminder of
how Jesus' love is refreshing!
At
the Polar Bear Club they made Polar Bear Snap Key Chains to take home
with them.
The
closing ceremony for the day at the Ice Station Celebration was a sight
to behold. When Wally Russ, being played in a skit by a long-time
church member, saw a Beware of Avalanche sign, he scoffed at it.
He wound up literally buried in an avalanche of Styrofoam snow.
