West Park United Methodist's $1.5 million
expansion project is now complete. The church was granted a
certificate of occupancy on August 2, 2004. It ended a construction
project that started on March 14, 2004, when a ground breaking service was
held.
A dedication service will be held on
Sunday, September 25, 2004, for the new rooms in the expansion.
The original building, seen in the drawing at
left, was completed in 1968. It contained a sanctuary, a fellowship hall,
a small narthex, a kitchen and 12 study rooms.
The expansion, seen
in the drawing below, doubled the size of the church
Fellowship Hall, which is now our narthex or
Gathering Room. It increased the size of the
sanctuary by 32 seats, almost tripled the size of
the kitchen, added a library room, added seven new
study rooms, added two new restrooms, and a huge Celebration room which
serves as a multipurpose room. |
